PMA (Pahinga Muna, Anak)

This blog was originally posted in my Facebook Note last April 4, 2014.

…To do. To do. To do. So kung napagod ka na sa kaka-To Do lalo na sa semester na ito, sige! soon, yan pagkwentuhan natin! (“Do-Be-Do-Be-Do”)

Effort dito. Isip doon. Galaw dito. Plano doon. Estudyante, May trabaho, Working Student, Leader … I pray na somehow God will use this note to encourage you just as He encouraged and refreshed me…

Wala akong matandaan. May times na yung prayer mo, putol putol kasi bigla kang makakatulog at gigising. Minsan overnight na din. “Thank you Lord” sa gabi. Yung “Amen” sa umaga na. May mga oras na napapahinto ako sa ginagawa ko kasi di ko pa pala pinapakinggan kung ano yung sinasabi ni God on what I am doing and planning. Minsan akala mo ikaw lang may struggle na ganito pero kapag nakausap mo yang kaklase mo sa hallway habang naghihintay kayo ng prof or nakachat mo yung kaibigan mo habang gumagawa ng project, malalaman mo na pareho pala kayo and it will just motivate you na no matter what, let’s fight the good fight of the faith!

After those days na I keep on asking God to refresh and encourage me with His word, He answered me. Ilang araw rin akong hinabol ng story na ‘to and when I finally realized why, He didn’t disappoint me.

 (39) She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. (40) But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”(41) “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, (42) but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

-Luke 10

Martha was busy doing all those preparations. Mary just sat and listened to Jesus. Or hindi lang about sa “How to Be Hospitable to your Visitor”. I believe this is about priority and what is the most important thing in our lives.

MARTHA.

Fellowship. Ministry. Etc..

“We are so deeply entrenched in the doing that we miss the Being.” All these things are good pero kung distracted tayo at naneneglect na natin ang personal and quality time natin with Him, oooppss.. “PMA”! What Martha did was good but what Mary did was better. I am reminded that God didn’t just call me for a service, He called me first for a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP. That He didn’t just call me to be a servant, He called me first as a SON. Most of the time, He is calling us to be a MARY.

Natatandaan ko nung nagmeeting kami and a coach just shared her story to us, nablown away ako sa sinabi nya, parang binugahan ako sa mukha ng isang taong nakakain ng 10 double mint.

“NAMIMISS KA NA NI GOD.”

Teary eyed and Refreshing. Urg! And I believe ikaw din! Whether wala ka mang quality time ngayon with Him, namimiss ka na Niya or kung meron man, He wants more. Bukod sa bonding, movie marathon, swimming, Frisbee, jogging with friends and even sa #MeteorGardenUltimateThrowback pag hapon, a more time to spend with Him must excites us the most!

Sa tuwing may matatapos na isang semester or minsan pag sa tingin kong I am busy walking this life without His direction and guide, I spend a day along with the Lord. Yung kami lang. Lakad. Gala. Usap. Heart Check. And I always find this satisfying. And that rest can only be found in Jesus. Nababawasan yung bigat na nararamdaman mo. Nasasabi mo sa kanya lahat. Dun mo mas naeexperience na this is a relationship for real. :”)

God is really proud of you. God knows you did your best and you are doing your best to please Him and bring honor for His name. Alam Niya yung mga bitterness, hatred, happiness and joy na naramdaman mo towards your professors and classmates. Walang nasayang at nakaligtaan kaibigan. Malayo layo na rin ang nalakad mo ah, may mga oras pa nga na ginagapang mo na to reach the destination.

And this time is the right time. Let’s hear God saying, “Pahinga muna, Anak.”

Why won’t you find that rest in Jesus? Enjoy Him. Worship Him. Thank Him. Talk to Him. Listen to Him. Walk with Him. Experience the love of a Father.

“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out? COME TO ME. GET AWAY WITH ME AND YOU’LL RECOVER YOUR LIFE. I’ll show you how to take a REAL REST. WALK WITH ME AND WORK WITH ME—WATCH HOW I DO IT. LEARN THE UNFORCED RHYTHMS OF GRACE. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. KEEP COMPANY WITH ME AND YOU’LL LEARN TO LIVE FREELY AND LIGHTLY.”

-Matthew 11:28-30, MSG

And I wanna end this sa part na sinabi ni Jesus na … Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. Yep, let us always choose what is better. Those things we do are good but it can be taken from us. But our personal relationship with the Lord is better and that is something that can’t be taken from us.

Let’s always fight for our time with Jesus! :”)

(Oceans: My soul will rest in Your embrace. For I am Yours and You are mine… *till fade.)
